Donald Trump has formally endorsed Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor of Ohio, calling him “young, strong, and smart.”

Donald Trump has formally endorsed biotech billionaire Vivek Ramaswamy for Governor of Ohio, calling him “Young, Strong, and Smart" in a glowing Truth Social post on Saturday.
“Vivek Ramaswamy is running for Governor of the Great State of Ohio, a place I love and won big, three times, in 2016, 2020, and 2024," Trump wrote.
“I know Vivek well, competed against him, and he is something special. He is Young, Strong, and Smart! Vivek is also a very good person, who truly loves our Country," the US President mentioned.
Praising the 39-year-old former presidential candidate’s leadership style, Trump added, “As your next Governor, Vivek will fight tirelessly to grow the economy, cut taxes and regulations, promote Made in the U.S.A., champion American energy dominance, keep our now very secure borders secure, stop migrant crime, strengthen our military and veterans, ensure law and order, advance election integrity, and protect our always under siege Second Amendment."
Declaring his “Complete and Total Endorsement," Trump said Ramaswamy “will be a Great Governor of Ohio" and “will never let you down."
The endorsement came hours after Ohio voters cast their ballots for a new governor in 2026, along with all of Ohio’s other statewide executive offices, as all current officeholders are term-limited.
In May this year, Ramaswamy, 39, a Cincinnati native and former co-chair of Trump’s Department of Government Efficiency initiative, won the Ohio Republican Party’s gubernatorial endorsement.
The decision followed weeks of lobbying and an 11th-hour appeal from Donald Trump Jr. on X, urging state committee members to back Ramaswamy.
Ramaswamy had shown interest in the US Senate seat vacated by Vice President JD Vance before, but DeWine chose then-Lt. Gov. Jon Husted as Vance’s successor.
