As tensions remain high between India and Pakistan, a cleric from Islamabad denounced the Pakistani Army, stating that it carries out oppression against its people in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He also pointed to the oppression of people within Pakistan.

During his speech, Maulana Abdul Aziz Ghazi, cleric of Islamabad’s Lal Masjid, asked the crowd to raise their hands if they would fight. Not a single hand went up, and a dead silence followed. The video of Ghazi’s speech is doing the rounds on social media.

Addressing students and followers at Lal Masjid, Ghazi said, “I have a question for you. Tell me, if Pakistan fights against India, how many of you would support Pakistan and fight for it?"

When no one raised their hands, he said, “This means there is enough understanding."

Amid high tensions, Pakistani leaders are pushing a narrative that India might strike to avenge the Pahalgam terror attack last month where 26 people were killed.

Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif has warned that New Delhi could launch a military strike at any moment along the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir.

“There are reports that India may strike at any point along the LoC… New Delhi will be given a befitting reply," the minister told reporters in Islamabad as reported by news agency PTI.
