A man who heroically tackled and disarmed one of the Bondi Beach gunmen has been identified as 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed, a Sydney local who owns a fruit shop in Sutherland.

A man who heroically tackled and disarmed one of the Bondi Beach gunmen has been identified as 43-year-old Ahmed al Ahmed, a Sydney local who owns a fruit shop in Sutherland.
According to News.com.au, Ahmed, a father of two, was shot twice while intervening during the attack. His cousin Mustafa told 7News that Ahmed is currently in hospital and was due to undergo surgery on Sunday night. “He’s in hospital, and we don’t know exactly what’s going on inside. We do hope he will be fine. He’s a hero 100 per cent,” Mustafa said.
