US President Donald Trump marked the first anniversary of his 2024 re-election with a trademark mix of flair and showmanship delivering a speech, touting his achievements, and capping it off with his signature “Trump Dance.”

After addressing the America Business Forum at Miami’s Kaseya Centre, the 79-year-old president broke into his familiar shoulder shuffles and finger points to the tune of “YMCA.” Holding a ceremonial gold key to the city gifted by Miami Mayor Francis Suarez, Trump declared it “the golden age of America.”

The event, presented as a major business summit, doubled as a celebration of Trump’s political endurance and his claim that the US economy is booming under his leadership. “Almost 2 million American-born workers are employed today more than when I took office,” he said, highlighting record stock market highs, wage growth, and what he described as a revival of American confidence.

Trump’s dance came at the end of a campaign-style address filled with optimism and boasting. Between praising economic indicators and taking jabs at political rivals, he said the world now views the United States “with envy.”

At one point, Trump joked that Miami, which is also set to host the next World Cup, symbolises “the heart of the new American dream.” The crowd roared when he added, “And tonight, that dream’s got rhythm.”

The audience included a mix of political leaders, business magnates, and sports icons such as Serena Williams and Lionel Messi. The Kaseya Center, home of the NBA’s Miami Heat, was transformed into a futuristic arena featuring flashing lights, rolling smoke, and high-powered dealmaking.

The America Business Forum, backed by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF), served as both an economic conference and a global spectacle. “This conference isn’t just about bringing big names together — it’s capturing a moment in history,” said Mayor Suarez, describing the evening as a fusion of politics, performance, and power.
