US Stock Market LIVE Updates: On Friday, the S&P 500 fell 1.2%, the Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.5%, and the Dow Jones Industrial Average declined by 485 points, or 1.1% amid disappointing jobs data from July.
US Stock Market LIVE Updates: US stock futures declined Friday (August 1) as traders assessed President Trump’s revised tariff structure and a mixed set of Big Tech earnings. Investors also looked ahead to the July jobs report due later in the day. Dow Jones Industrial Average futures dropped 402 points, or 0.9%. S&P 500 futures slid 0.9%, while Nasdaq-100 futures fell 1%. In after-hours trading, Amazon shares fell over 6% after the company issued weaker-than-expected operating income guidance for the current quarter. In contrast, Apple gained 2% after posting better-than-expected earnings and revenue. Meanwhile, just hours before the August 1 “reciprocal” tariff deadline, President Trump rolled out updated levies ranging from 10% to 41%. Goods rerouted through third countries to avoid tariffs will be hit with an additional 40% duty, the White House said.
