Bahrain’s interior ministry said an Iranian drone attack had damaged a water desalination plant as Iran continued retaliatory attacks across the Gulf.

“The Iranian aggression randomly bombs civilian targets and causes material damage to a water desalination plant following an attack by a drone,” the ministry said in a statement.

Iran’s President, Masoud Pezeshkian, said the country will respond “forcefully” to the American and Israeli attacks. “We will respond forcefully to the American and Israeli attacks and will not surrender”, he said.

The United Arab Emirates (UAE) on Sunday announced it was responding to Iranian missile and drone attacks.

“UAE air defenses are currently dealing with incoming missile and drone threats from Iran. The Ministry of Defense confirms that the sounds heard in scattered areas of the country are the result of the air defense systems intercepting ballistic missiles, and fighter jets intercepting drones and loitering munitions”, said an official statement.

The United Arab Emirates said on Sunday that its air defence systems were responding to missiles and drones launched from Iran.

“UAE air defences are currently responding to incoming missile and drone threats from Iran,” the defence ministry said in a post on X. It said sounds of explosions were a result of the systems “intercepting missiles and drones”.

US President Donald Trump said on Saturday that he wants to be involved in the selection of Iran’s next leader, days after Ali Khamenei was killed in U.S.-Israeli strikes.

Speaking to reporters aboard Air Force One, Trump said, “We don’t want to come back every five years or every 10 years and do this. We want to pick a president that’s not going to be leading their country into a war,” he said, as quoted by CNN.

US President Donald Trump said he’s not interested in negotiating with Iran. Raising the prospect of killing all potential leaders of Iran, he said the war would only end once Tehran no longer has a functioning military or any remaining leadership in power, according to a report by Reuters.

The United States Central Command (CENTCOM) rejected Iran’s claims that its strikes only targeted military facilities.

In a post on X, the CENTCOM accused Iran of “deliberate, indiscriminate and irresponsible targeting of civilian airports, hotels and residential neighborhoods”, emphasising the US forces had worked closely with regional partners to counter such attacks.

The Indian Embassy in the United Arab Emirates has warned the nationals against photographing, publishing or sharing images of incident sites on social media to ensure the safety of citizens amid the ongoing conflict.

The Kuwait Fire Force on Sunday said the fire at the fuel tanks belonging to Kuwait Airport was brought under control.

“The Kuwait Fire Force announces that its teams have succeeded in controlling the fire at the fuel tanks belonging to Kuwait Airport .. while other teams continue the operation to combat the fire at the main headquarters of the Public Institution for Social Security”, the statement read.

This comes as the Gulf nations including, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Kuwait, all reported fresh attacks, with Kuwait’s national oil company announcing a “precautionary” cut to production.

Wang Yi, China’s foreign minister, said that the ongoing war in the Middle East should never have taken place.

Addressing the press in Beijing, Wang said, “This is a war that should never have happened”. “A strong fist does not mean strong reason. The world cannot return to the law of the jungle”, he added.

Ali Larijani, the Secretary of the Supreme Security Council, issued a warning to US President Donald Trump, saying Iran will “avenge blood of our leader, our people”.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in a direct message to Iranians, said, “The moment of truth is approaching”. He emphasised Israel is not trying to divide Iran, rather it aims to free the nation.

The remarks come as the United States and Israel engage in a high-intensity war with Israel.

A loud explosion was reported near the U.S. embassy in Oslo on Sunday, news agency Reuters reported citing authorities.

Huge blasts were reported in Bahrain as Iran continued retaliatory attacks against the coordinated U.S.-Israeli strikes.

Saudi Arabia’s defence ministry said on Sunday that it had intercepted and destroyed 14 drones that entered the kingdom’s airspace as Iran continued its attacks across the Gulf.

In posts on its official X account, the ministry said eight drones were intercepted inside Saudi airspace. A further six drones were intercepted and destroyed east of the capital, Riyadh.

The interceptions come as Iran presses ahead with missile and drone strikes across the Gulf following the widening conflict in the region. Gulf countries have reported multiple aerial threats in recent days as the confrontation continues to escalate.

Kuwait’s defence ministry said on Sunday that fuel tanks at the Gulf nation’s international airport were targeted in a drone attack, as Iran continued its strikes across the region.

“The fuel tanks of Kuwait Airport were attacked by drones in a direct targeting of vital infrastructure,” an official defence ministry spokesman said, according to a post by the Kuwaiti military on X.

One person died in Dubai after debris from an aerial interception fell on a vehicle in Al Barsha during Iran’s retaliatory strikes.

A drone strike linked to Iran’s retaliation hit Dubai’s 23 Marina Tower on Saturday, sparking a fire amid escalating Gulf attacks.

Donald Trump criticised the United Kingdom after reports that it was considering sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East. In a post on Truth Social, Trump said the US no longer needed British support criticising the British government for joining the war late.

Addressing UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer, Trump said the US did not need allies who joined wars after they had already been won.

Trump’s Truth Social post reads, “The United Kingdom, our once Great Ally, maybe the Greatest of them all, is finally giving serious thought to sending two aircraft carriers to the Middle East. That’s OK, Prime Minister Starmer, we don’t need them any longer — But we will remember. We don’t need people that join Wars after we’ve already won!”

An oil depot in south Tehran was struck, Iranian media reported. The Fars News Agency said the facility was hit shortly after the Israeli Defense Forces announced a new wave of strikes targeting the city.
