Just days after the resignation of Astronomer CEO Andy Byron, triggered by a viral video of the company’s HR head, Kristin Cabot, at a Coldplay concert, the tech firm’s interim leader, Pete DeJoy, has addressed the unexpected attention. The Cincinnati-based data and AI startup CEO called the incident “unusual and surreal" and mentioned that it was one thing he “would never have wished for to happen like this".

In a long post on LinkedIn, DeJoy said: “The events of the past few days have received a level of media attention that few companies — let alone startups in our small corner of the data and AI world — ever encounter."

“The spotlight has been unusual and surreal for our team and, while I would never have wished for it to happen like this, Astronomer is now a household name."
