'Unbelievable': Netanyahu Recalls His First Date With Wife Sara At Indian Restaurant

Netanyahu recalled his first date with Sara at Reena Pushkarna in Tel Aviv, praising Indian food. On Wednesday, PM Modi received the Speaker of the Knesset Medal.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Wednesday recalled his first date with Sara (his wife) at an Indian restaurant in Tel Aviv and said that the food was “unbelievable".

Speaking candidly at the joint press statement with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Netanyahu says, “…I owe India a great personal debt. When I met Sara (his wife) for the first time, I think our first or second date was in an Indian restaurant in Tel Aviv. It was Reena Pushkarna."

“The food was unbelievable. Sara was introduced to it for the first time, so it was a great first date – not only with the food, the date was excellent too…" he added.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi was on a two-day official visit to Israel at the invitation of Israeli PM Benjamin Netanyahu.

During the visit, both leaders held delegation-level talks and later released MoU exchange and joint press statements.

On Wednesday, PM Modi addressed a Special Plenary of the Knesset in Jerusalem and became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the Israeli parliament. He was also was conferred with the highest honour of the Knesset — “Speaker of the Knesset Medal" — by the Israeli Parliament on Wednesday.

Upon his arrival at the Knesset, the Prime Minister was received by the Speaker of the Knesset, Amir Ohana and accorded a ceremonial welcome.
