After his annual medical examination, US doctors suggested that US President Donald Trump is in ‘excellent health’. However, they suggested that the 80-year-old Republican needs to exercise more and lose weight to stay fit.

Trump visited the Walter Reed Military Medical Centre on Tuesday for a check-up. He shared the update from his Truth Social account, writing that everything was ‘perfectly checked.’

Nearly four days later, the White House released a memo containing a letter from Sean Barbabella that provided a briefing on the President’s health. Barbabella, a US Navy captain and Trump’s physician, said that the veteran leader demonstrated a strong overall physical function. However, he needs to continue his weight-loss journey, as the President has gained some more kilograms compared to his last medical check-ups.

“President Trump remains in excellent health, demonstrating strong cardiac, pulmonary, neurological, and overall physical function,” Barbabella wrote in the letter, which was accessed by CNN. “Cognitive and physical performance are excellent. He is fully fit to carry out all duties of the Commander-in-Chief and Head of State,” the letter further read.

Barbabella further mentioned that “Preventive counselling was provided during the exam, including guidance on diet, recommendation to take a low-dose aspirin, increased physical activity, and continued weight loss.”

The doctor further wrote that Trump, the oldest person to be inaugurated as the US President, presently weighs 234 LBs (108 kg). Since his last medical examination, he has put on an extra 14lb (6.3 kg).

To lose weight, Trump has been advised to follow a strict diet, regulated by the US physician. In addition, the Republican has been asked to perform certain physical activities.

Medication has also been suggested to keep his cholesterol levels under control.
