US President Donald Trump could announce a plan to compromise on tariffs imposed on Canada and Mexico as early as today, according to US Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick.
Starting Tuesday, Trump’s 25% tariffs on imports from Canada and Mexico and a 20% duty hike on Chinese goods came into effect. In retaliation, the three nations have announced countermeasures against the US, which could slow economic growth and increase costs for Americans still reeling from years of high inflation.
