Shares of four pharma companies are expected to remain in focus on Monday, October 5, following a series of company-specific developments.
Cipla: Maharashtra FDA has cancelled Cipla’s wholesale drug sale and distribution licence in Pune, citing regulatory and storage-related irregularities. The regulator also raised concerns over the misbranding of Reactin Plus Tablets, an analgesic and anti-inflammatory drug. Cipla said it is disappointed with the decision, maintains that its Pune warehouse complies with applicable requirements and is reviewing the order while evaluating further options.
Sun Pharma: Sun Pharmaceutical Industries said new data on LEQSELVI (deuruxolitinib) showed sustained hair regrowth through two years in patients with severe alopecia areata. The drug was featured in seven presentations at the 2026 EADV Congress. Nearly 94% of patients who responded at Week 52 maintained their response through Week 108, while the safety profile remained broadly consistent with earlier clinical experience.
Piramal Pharma: Piramal Pharma said its commercial agreement with Bayer Pharma will expire on December 31, 2026, and will not be renewed. The arrangement covers sales and distribution support services provided to Bayer. The company said the agreement contributed commission income but accounted for less than 5% of consolidated revenue and is not expected to have a material impact on its profit or financial position.
Aurobindo Pharma: Apitoria Pharma, a subsidiary of Aurobindo Pharma, is acquiring the Contract Research Services business of A1 Biochem Group. As part of the transaction, A1 Biochem USA has completed the acquisition of 100% of US-based A1 Biochem Labs LLC, which will become a step-down subsidiary of A1 Biochem Labs India. The transaction is being carried out under definitive agreements signed for the acquisition of A1 Biochem Group’s Contract Research Services business.
