Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights:By the end of the session, the Sensex had slipped 65 points to 85,642, while the Nifty fell 27 points to 26,176. The midcap index was largely unchanged at 61,043, and the Nifty Bank ended 71 points lower at 59,681, reflecting the broad-based cooling after the morning surge.

Sensex Today | Stock Market Highlights: The domestic market slipped off record highs on Monday as profit-taking wiped out early gains, leaving the benchmark indices to end flat. The Nifty closed below the 25,200 mark after all four frontline indices — Sensex, Nifty, Nifty Bank and Nifty Midcap — opened at fresh record levels in early trade.

Auto stocks were among the bright spots, closing mostly in the green and lifting the sectoral index by 1%. Realty stocks lagged the most, with the index falling 1% ahead of the RBI’s policy announcement later this week. Aviation major IndiGo was among the top Nifty losers, weighed down by a weaker rupee and a hike in aviation turbine fuel prices.

Among notable movers, IEX climbed 5%, recovering Friday’s losses as investors assessed recent observations by the Appellate Tribunal for Electricity. IT stocks inched higher on the back of the rupee’s decline against the dollar, with Cyient and KPIT Technologies featuring among the top gainers.

Paytm and Kfin Technologies added about 4% each after upbeat brokerage commentary, while metal counters gained as global prices firmed up. Hindustan Zinc rose 3%, and NMDC advanced 2% ahead of its monthly operational updates.
