Speculation Over MNS-Shiv Sena Alliance Grows As Raj-Aditya Posters Appear In Nashik
Amid the ongoing speculations over a possible tie-up between Shiv Sena (UBT) and MNS, the posters of the estranged uncle and nephew, Raj Thackeray and Aaditya Thackeray, have come up at Nashik.
Nearly two decades after parting ways, speculations have been rife about a possible alliance between Uddhav and Raj Thackeray after they recently hinted at the possibility of setting aside past differences and working together for the people of Maharashtra.
Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Sanjay Raut earlier said that the party is ready to take a step forward or even backwards, and there is no political ego in it, amid the chatter of rapprochement between his outfit and the MNS.
The Sena (UBT), led by former chief minister Uddhav Thackeray, will do whatever is possible for the benefit of Maharashtra, “Marathi manoos" (Marathi-speaking people) and to re-ensure their claim on Mumbai, Raut told reporters.
“We are ready to take a step ahead or back. There is no political ego in it," he added.
Meanwhile, according to the sources, the estranged cousins Uddhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray reportedly met abroad last month and held discussions about the alliance.
The Thackeray brothers were on a foreign tour in April when they both held discussions on a possible alliance ahead of the BMC polls.
While addressing the reporters recently, Uddhav Thackeray stated that there’s clarity among Shiv Sena workers and MNS supporters.“There is no confusion in our and our Shiv Sainiks’ hearts. There is no confusion in his (MNS) mind either. We will not give any message, we will give the news directly," Uddhav said.
Raj Thackeray has also hinted towards joining hands with his cousin brother for the interest of the Marathi manoos (Marathi-speaking people).
In a notable shift, the MNS supported the BJP in Maharashtra during the 2024 Lok Sabha elections, but six months later, they contested the state Assembly polls independently.
