This will be the third instance of Tanla Platforms considering a buyback of its equity shares in the last five years, after two previous ones in 2020 and 2022.
Shares of Tanla Platforms Ltd. gained over 11% on Thursday, June 12, after the company said its board of directors will meet next week to consider the proposal for buyback of equity shares of the firm.
The board of directors is set to meet on Monday, June 16.
This will be the third instance of Tanla Platforms considering a buyback of its equity shares in the last five years, after two previous ones in 2020 and 2022.
Back in 2020, Tanla Platforms had carried out a share buyback worth ₹154 crore, repurchasing shares at ₹1,200 apiece. Two years later, the buyback size was increased to ₹170 crore, but the price remained the same at ₹1,200 apiece.
Tanla Platforms shares are trading 48% below the previous buyback price.
In accordance with the Securities and Exchange Board of India's (SEBI) regulations and the company's code of conduct, the trading window for dealing in the firm's securities will remain closed for all insiders involved in the buyback project till June 18, 2025, the company said in a separate exchange filing.
Tanla Platforms reported a 9.9% decline in its fourth quarter net profit at ₹117.3 crore in comparison to ₹130.2 crore in the same period of the previous fiscal.
Its revenue increased 1.9% to ₹1,024.4 crore in the March quarter from ₹1,005.5 crore in the previous year.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation (EBITDA) too inched 1.9% up to ₹163.4 crore from the previous year.
The EBITDA margin remain unchanged at 16%.
Tanla Platforms' board also declared a second interim dividend of ₹6 per equity share for FY25 and the record date for the same was April 30, 2025.
Shares of Tanla Platforms Ltd. were up 11.08% down at ₹691.65 apiece. The stock has gained 39.88% in the past month but has declined 7.42% this year, so far.
