Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is the halfway mark on the Sensex weekly expiry day, and the markets are on a volatile spot. The markets are looking to steady the ship after gains in the previous session. The Nifty is rising towards 23,300 with gains of around 50 points. The Nifty bank index is also up, rising over 100 points on this Sensex weekly expiry. Bajaj Fin, Shriam Fin and Eternal are the top gainers.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It is past noon at Dalal Street, and the Indian markets remain in a volatile patch, as fights to hold the gains.
The markers look cautious as the Nifty index rises towards the 23,300 mark in this Sensex weekly expiry session. The Sensex is also up, rising over 50 points, moving towards 74,500.
The Indian markets are reacting to the US Federal Reserve hiking interest rates for the first time in three years. Wall Street sold off as a result; the US Dollar Strengthened, while yields rose as well.
Brent Crude has eased to $105, and the Indian rupee is on expected lines; after weakening and falling to 96 for the first time since July 27, 2026, it has now recovered.
The Nifty has been finding resistance at the 23,280 - 23,300 zone so that will be an important level to watch. On the downside, Tuesday's close and Wednesday's low of around 23,100 will remain the key.
The Nifty Bank needs to sustain above the 56,000 mark as well or yesterday's low of 55,812 will come into play yet again. Primary market activity, though, remains robust with the mega NSE IPO opening for subscription today.
