Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty is now trading in green, aftering having recovered over 120 points from the day's lows. The Sensex index has also surged from day's low, gaining 120 points to rise above 82,200. This surge is being led by banking stocks.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Nifty index has now rebounded after falling for the past two consecutive sessions. The Nifty index is up nearly 30 points, rising above the 25,220 mark. The Sensex index, after falling by over 250 points, the index recovered to trade with gains of 130 points. The index is above the 82,000 mark.
The Nifty Bank is also trading in red, having seen a grind down in the second half of the trading session, closing below the 55,300 mark after outperforming in the first half of trade.
The Indian Rupee has now fallen to new record lows, dropping to 88.57 against the US dollar.
When we look at the broader markets, the Nifty Midcap 100 index is nearly 300 points down. The Nifty Smallcap index is also down, trading with a decline of 0.62%.
Auto stocks, particularly the shares of Hyundai, Maruti Suzuki and Tata Motors, are trading higher after reporting bumper sales figures, giving a strong start to Navaratri sales.
