Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets seem to be breaking the patterns, as the indices are trading in green. The Nifty index is trading with gains of close to 130 points, hovering around 24,670. The Sensex index has also surged, trading with gains of 350 points.

The surge in the markets is led by metal and auto stocks, which have been surging

Some of the biggest volume movers in terms of higher-than-average volume transactions are Sarda Energy, Delhivery, Federal Bank, ABB India and CCL Products among the Nifty 500 stocks.

When it comes to the post-result stock reaction, it is a mixed bag, as the shares of Federal Bank slumped.

This progress in today's trade comes at a time when the markets are keenly looking at the RBI for its monetary policy decision of the Reserve Bank of India, which will be announced on Wednesday, August 6, as a lot has changed on the ground from the previous central bank policy.

Growth concerns have also re-emerged after weaker-than-expected jobs data on Friday from the US, triggering a sell-off on Wall Street and other asset classes, barring gold.

While there are no Nifty stock reports today, broader market names like Aurobindo Pharma, DLF, and Godfrey Phillips will be coming out with numbers. Also watch for PNB Housing after Friday's fall, with the stock entering the F&O ban.
