Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: Indian benchmark indices Nifty 50 and Sensex opened little changed today. Nifty is down for the fifth consecutive day. Today is also the weekly expiry of the BSE contracts.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: After a 1,000-point rally in 14 trading sessions, the Nifty 50 index has given up a fourth of that already during this ongoing four-day losing streak. Unlike previous sessions when dips were getting bought into, the intraday recovery witnessed on Wednesday, led by the FMCG stocks, was sold into.
The Nifty Bank, a key catalyst behind this recent 1,000-point rally on the Nifty, struggled to cross 55,500 yet again and took the benchmark index lower with it. Today is also the weekly expiry of the BSE contracts.
BSE will also be in focus after CNBC-TV18 reported that SEBI has begun consultation with shareholders with regards to weekly expiries and other aspects.
Some Pharma stocks such as Glenmark, IPCA Labs and Poly Medicure will be in focus today with regards to their respective newsflow.
Three stocks will also see their shareholder lock-in end today, while Polycab may see a block deal.
Keep an eye on Auto ancillaries as stocks have seen gains of up to 25% over the last two sessions.
