The Indian markets cannot seem to find a way out of the slump; the Nifty has now fallen below the 24,800 mark. Post-result stocks like SBI Cards and Kotak Bank are trading with cuts.
Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: The Indian markets are in a relatively volatile space, as the Nifty index, after starting with cuts of about 80 points, recovered to climb back to 24,800, only to fall again. The Nifty index is currently trading with losses of 50 points. The Sensex is down 200 points.
The TCS layoff announcement will again keep IT in the spotlight; the company's shares have declined about 1%.
This 50-point fall today comes after the Nifty closed below its 50-DMA last week, and that brings the June 24 swing low of 24,824 into play.
The Nifty IT and Nifty Realty indices are under immense pressure, trading with a cut of about 1.5%. The real estate space is under pressure, with the likes of Lodha, DLF, and Godrej Properties trading with cuts.
The Nifty Midcap 100 index has surged, recovering 650 points from the day's lows. The Nifty small-cap continues to remain in focus.
The shares of Kotak Bank, SBI Cards, Lodha Developer, and CDSL are trading in red with major losses.
When we look at some of the biggest volume buzzers of the day, which include stocks with higher-than-average movement in day's trade, include Poonawalla Fincorp, Laurus Labs, Acme Solar, Kotak Bank, and Aadhar Housing.
When we come to the Q1 season's today's instalment, the IndusInd Bank, Mazagon Dock, and BEL are some major results today.
This week, the US will see the FOMC rate decision, its GDP data, non-farm payrolls for July, and megacap tech results this week, while India too will continue with its earnings season and report auto sales for July.
