Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: We are halfway through the session dominated by election news. The markets have fallen from the highs after the initial bloom from positive cues. The Nifty is up over 150 points, surging towards 24,150. The Nifty Bank index is up over 300 points, rising to 55,300. Maruti, Bajaj Auto, Adani Ports and HUL are the top gainers.

Sensex Today | Stock Market LIVE Updates: It's past noon, and we are in the second half of the day's trade. The markets have fallen sharply from the day's high. After the early surge, it's now looking to come back from the sharp fall. The Nifty is up over 150 points, rising to 24,150. The Sensex is up over 400 points. rising to 77,300.
The Nifty Bank index is also surging, jumping over 550 points, reaching the 55,500 mark.
The Nifty bulls will aim to sustain themselves above the 24,000 mark amidst the election results in five state assemblies.
There are four days' worth of developments on the Iran crisis to monitor, with crude oil prices still above the $ 108-a-barrel mark. The Nifty is stuck in the 23,800 - 24,300 range, and breaking above or below that could result in a decisive move.
The Nifty Bank will be in focus as Kotak Bank reacts to the results reported over the weekend. Also watch for stocks like RailTel, Mazagon Dock, Zen Technologies, Vodafone Idea, Indus Towers, CDSL, NSDL, Avenue Supermarts, BHEL and others.
