A Saudi official accused the US of abandoning Gulf allies for Israel as Iran targeted Netanyahu’s office; Qatar and Saudi Arabia downed Iranian drones.

As tensions continued to simmer in the Middle East, a Saudi official has accused the US of abandoning its allies and redirecting “its air defense to protect Israel".
“United States abandoned us & redirected its air defense to protect Israel. They left all the Gulf states that host American military bases at the mercy of Iranian strikes," a Saudi official said.

The US launched a major military operation against Iran on February 28, called Operation Epic Fury, with the strikes targeting key Iranian military sites, including missile facilities, naval bases, and locations near Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s office.
The paramilitary Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps in Iran on Monday said it had targeted Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office and the headquarters of the Israeli air force commander.
“The office of the criminal prime minister of the Zionist regime and the headquarters of the regime’s air force commander were targeted," the Guards said in a statement carried by Iran’s Fars news agency.
Qatar and Saudi Arabia on Monday said they have intercepted Iranian drones targeting energy facilities and bases. There are no causalities.
AFP quoted Qatari defence ministry saying that two Iranian drones targeted a power plant in Qatar and a separate energy facility on Monday.
One of the drones targeted a water tank belonging to a power plant in Mesaieed south of Doha while the other targeted an energy facility in Ras Laffan on the north coast, Qatar’s main site for production of liquefied natural gas.
