The Ministry of External Affairs has dismissed reports about any restrictions on Indians travelling to Saudi Arabia, according to MEA sources.
“The Saudi Government has not issued any notification on this matter. As a matter of practice, during the Hajj season, temporary restrictions are imposed on short-term visas to prevent overcrowding, which will end with the conclusion of Hajj," sources added.
Earlier in the day, reports emerged that Saudi Arabia had temporarily suspended block work visas for a dozen countries, including India. However, the decision has been in effect since May 2025 and is being attributed to security and administrative concerns, particularly in light of pilgrim management and immigration compliance during the busy Hajj period. The travel ban will be in place till June 30.
