PM Modi had a warm and cordial conversation with Malaysian PM Anwar Ibrahim and said that he would attend the 47th Asean Summit virtually.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday confirmed that he would not be travelling to Kuala Lumpur for the 47th Asean Summit, but would attend it virtually. PM Modi on Wednesday had a telephonic conversation with his Malaysian counterpart Anwar Ibrahim and discussed efforts to strengthen the bilateral relations between the two countries to a more strategic and comprehensive level.
Taking to X, PM Modi wrote, “Had a warm conversation with my dear friend, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia. Congratulated him on Malaysia’s ASEAN Chairmanship and conveyed best wishes for the success of upcoming Summits."
“Look forward to joining the ASEAN-India Summit virtually, and to further deepening of the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership," he added.

PM Modi’s Telephonic Conversation With Malaysian PM
Prime Minister Modi had a warm and cordial conversation with Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim of Malaysia. During the interaction, PM Modi conveyed best wishes to Prime Minister Ibrahim for the successful conduct of the upcoming ASEAN-related Summits under Malaysia’s leadership.
Prime Minister Modi also expressed his interest in joining the ASEAN-India Summit virtually and reaffirmed India’s commitment to further strengthening the ASEAN-India Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Detailing his recent conversation with Prime Minister Modi, Ibrahim highlighted efforts to strengthen bilateral ties between the two countries.
“Last night, I received a phone call from a colleague of the Prime Minister of the Republic of India, Narendra Modi, to discuss efforts to strengthen Malaysia-India bilateral relations to a more strategic and comprehensive level. India remains an important partner for Malaysia in the fields of trade and investment, in addition to close cooperation in the sectors of technology, education, and regional security," Anwar said.
