Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday took a dig at Congress for not letting their MPs Shashi Tharoor and Manish Tewari speak in the Lok Sabha during the debate on Operation Sindoor.
Speaking in the lower house of Parliament, PM Modi said: “Even if our hearts don’t align in party interests, they must align in the nation’s interest. The country now has a “Sindoor spirit", which we saw when our representatives went to tell the world about India’s side. I congratulate each one of them. Although the big leaders of Congress are unhappy with this as well. Some have even been stopped from speaking in the House."

Tharoor, a three-time MP from Kerala’s Thiruvanthapuram, has been vocal about his support for the Modi government on Operation Sindoor. He led a delegation of MPs to different countries, explaining India’s stance on terrorism and Operation Sindoor. However, this did not go well with Congress leadership, and he did not figure in the list of Congress speakers for debate in the Lok Sabha.
PM Modi then went on a send a message with poetic lines.
“Dal hit mein humare mann mile na mile, desh hit mein humare mann milne chahiye. Karo charcha aur itni karo, ki dushaman dehsat se dehal uthe, rahe dhyan bas itna hi maan sindoor aur sena ka prashno mein bhi atal rahe. Humla maa bharti pe hua agar toh prachand prahaar karna hoga, dushman jaha bhi baitha ho hume bharat ke liye hi jeena hoga. (We may not see eye to eye when it comes to party interests, but for the good of the nation, our hearts must come together. Engage in debate- debate with such intensity that it shakes the enemy. But keep one thing sacred: amid all questions, let your respect for the soldier’s sacrifice and a mother’s sindoor remain unwavering. Should Mother India come under attack, we must strike with unrelenting force. No matter where the enemy lurks, our lives must be devoted to the service of Bharat," he said.
