The BJP on Sunday launched a sharp attack on the ruling Trinamool Congress in West Bengal, alleging that women’s safety and the education system have deteriorated under its rule. Addressing a public gathering, BJP leaders claimed that crimes against women had increased and accused the state government of allowing “mafias” to take control of the education sector.

Appealing directly to the mothers and sisters of Bengal, the BJP said that as long as the Trinamool remained in power, children would not be safe. The party asserted that every vote for the BJP would help prevent incidents such as those reported in Sandeshkhali and ensure that teachers do not lose their jobs, promising better governance and security if voted to power.
