A dramatic video released by authorities shows the moment a small plane attempting an emergency landing collided with a moving car on Interstate 95 in Brevard County, Florida, on Monday.
According to officials, the aircraft was forced to make an unexpected descent onto the busy highway, where it struck a Toyota Camry travelling along the interstate. The driver, a 57-year-old woman, sustained minor injuries and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment, Brevard County Fire Rescue confirmed.
The Florida Highway Patrol said the plane’s 27-year-old pilot and his 27-year-old passenger escaped the crash without injuries.
Authorities are investigating what led to the emergency landing and subsequent collision. Traffic on I-95 was temporarily disrupted as crews cleared the scene.
