Emails between convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his model scout have revealed disturbing details about how they operated in sourcing young women for the financier.
The latest batch of documents released by the US Department of Justice shows Epstein’s model scout, Daniel Siad, regularly sent updates on his scouting trips across Europe, recruiting young women for modelling opportunities.
In an email from July 2014, Siad expressed his frustration at Epstein’s failure to attend a scheduled meeting, while offering an unsettling glimpse into the type of women he was bringing to Epstein, The Guardian reported.
“I had 2 girls from Sweden, a Slovakian, 2 French and [redacted] the Russian, with whom you spoke and a beautiful Chinese named [redacted]," Siad wrote. He went on to explain how he had met five girls aged 16 or 17 during his recent trip to Scandinavia, including a 15-year-old girl from France, whose parents had approved of her modelling ambitions. “There are millions of them out there," Siad added.

The exchanges also revealed the disturbing nature of their working relationship, with Epstein often providing financial incentives for Siad’s work.
“I will reimburse you of course for any expenses," Epstein wrote in response to Siad’s frustrations about the costs incurred during his scouting trips. At times, Epstein would send simple, blunt queries about “new girls" and “anything worth coming to Paris for?"
The emails show that Epstein remained heavily involved in the recruitment process, even though he had no formal role with any model agencies.
The latest documents provide insight into the disturbing and calculated nature of Epstein’s operations.
In some emails, Siad detailed his scouting trips to small villages in Eastern Europe, where he met women he believed could fit Epstein’s demands. “Slovakia is the place to be," he wrote in 2009, noting that he had 45 women lined up to meet Epstein.
The emails show that Epstein, who was convicted in 2008 of procuring a child for prostitution, had a persistent interest in young women from around the world.
