A major emergency response is underway at Sydney’s Bondi Beach after reports of a mass shooting on Sunday morning, with several people feared injured. NSW Police confirmed they are responding to a “serious incident" and urged residents to avoid the area and remain indoors while officers secure the scene.
In an alert posted on X, NSW Police said, “Police are currently responding to a serious incident in [suburb]. Please avoid the area and follow directions from emergency services. Further information will be provided as it becomes available."

Local media reports indicate that at least 50 shots were fired during a Hanukkah celebration at Bondi Beach, where more than 1,000 people were attending a parade. The Jerusalem Post, quoting a member of the Jewish community, also reported that the shooting took place during a Hanukkah party near the beachfront.
Emergency services remain on-site, and police are yet to release details on the number of casualties or whether the suspected shooter has been apprehended. Further updates are expected as the situation develops.
