The United States and Israel are on high alert after Trump announced airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities, marking a dramatic escalation in tensions.

Authorities in major US cities, including New York and Washington, are on high alert after the US conducted airstrikes targeting three Iranian nuclear facilities, in a sharp turning point in Middle East tensions.

The New York Police Department said it was tracking the situation unfolding in Iran. “Out of an abundance of caution, we’re deploying additional resources to religious, cultural, and diplomatic sites across NYC and coordinating with our federal partners. We’ll continue to monitor for any potential impact to NYC."

The Metropolitan Police Department also released a statement, saying it is “actively coordinating" with “local, state, and federal law enforcement partners to share information and monitor intelligence in order to help safeguard residents, businesses, and visitors in the District of Columbia."
