Amid the unrest in Pakistan, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi has launched a sharp attack on Pakistan’s jail administration and federal authorities, alleging that officials at Adiala Jail are openly violating court orders by not allowing any meeting with PTI founder Imran Khan since October 27.

Speaking to the media outside the Islamabad High Court, Afridi criticised what he called an attempt to keep Khan “isolated" and in “unknown condition", adding that even his family members had been mistreated.

Calling the situation a complete defiance of judicial authority, Afridi said, “They Are Not Allowing Meetings Since 27 October."

He added that no one — not lawyers, doctors, party leaders or family members — had been able to meet the former Prime Minister.

“We don’t know about Imran Khan as no meetings happened with lawyers, doctors, party leaders and family," he said.

Afridi claimed that despite assurances from the authorities that only non-political discussions would take place, the jail administration still refused access.

“Despite assurances of no political talks, jail administration didn’t allow meeting," he said. In a serious allegation, he added, “They humiliated Imran Khan’s sisters."

Suggesting that PTI would be pushed into street protests if courts did not intervene, the KP Chief Minister said, “We will resist and lead movement." He also pointed to international reports expressing concern about Imran Khan’s health.

“ media is running news about Imran Khan. We just want to know the health of Imran Khan," Afridi said.

Afridi also revealed that restrictions were being placed on him personally, stating, “They (Pak Govt & Military Establishment) have blocked my passport and not doing fair to us."

He argued that jail authorities were acting above the law: “Despite court orders, jail administration is not allowing us."

He expressed disappointment with the Islamabad High Court’s handling of the issue, saying, “Islamabad High Court Chief Justice is not meeting us and the court is not giving any relief to PTI."

Addressing the legal fraternity, Afridi appealed for help, “We appeal to judges and the legal community to raise a voice for justice."

Afridi confirmed that PTI has filed a petition seeking immediate permission to meet Imran Khan. He warned that rising frustration among party workers was unavoidable, saying, “They are promoting hate behaviour, and we have no option other than protests."

The KP Chief Minister’s statements come amid growing concern from Imran Khan’s family and PTI leaders about the former premier’s health and safety, as jail authorities continue to deny allegations of mistreatment or secrecy.
