Just days after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei's killing in a US-Israeli strike, Iran has appointed his son Mojtaba Khamenei as Supreme Leader. State media called him the 'Jaanbaz of Ramadan War', which suggests he might have been injured in the ongoing war with America and Israel.

Just over a week after Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was killed in a US-Israeli joint strike, Iran's Assembly of Experts appointed his 56-year-old son, Mojtaba Khamenei, as the new Supreme Leader. However, reports indicate that Mojtaba Khamenei was injured in the ongoing conflict, which the Iranian regime calls the Ramadan War against the US and Israel.
Iran's state TV referred to him as "Jaanbaz of Ramadan" — meaning an "injured war veteran".
Mojtaba, known for his close links to the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and his late father's office, is viewed as a hardliner who will ensure continuity in Iran's policies.
He has not appeared in public yet, fuelling more rumours about his condition.
Meanwhile, thousands gathered in Tehran on Monday in a massive show of support for the new leader.
