IRCON -JPWIPL joint venture wins ₹756 crore RVNL contract

State-run engineering and construction firm, IRCON Limited, on Friday (July 18), said it has received a Letter of Award from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for a railway infrastructure project in Madhya Pradesh, valued at ₹755.78 crore, including GST.

The project was secured through a joint venture between IRCON and JPWIPL, with IRCON holding a 70% stake and JPWIPL the remaining 30%. IRCON’s share in the project amounts to ₹529.04 crore, inclusive of GST.

The contract involves the construction of the roadbed, minor bridges, buildings, installation of track (excluding supply of rails, sleepers, and thick web switches), along with other civil engineering and general electrical works.

The scope pertains to the new broad-gauge railway line between Pipaliya Nankar (excluding) and Budni (including) stations in the Indore–Budni section of Bhopal Division, West Central Railway.

The project is structured as an item rate contract and is to be executed over a period of 36 months, with an additional 6 months for the defect liability period (DLP). Shares of Ircon Ltd ended at ₹186.95, down by ₹2.75, or 1.45%, on the BSE.
