IRCON bags three infrastructure contracts worth over ₹1,869 crore, including two from MMRDA

State-owned engineering firm IRCON Limited on Friday (July 18) said it has secured three major infrastructure contracts totalling over ₹1,869 crore, including two for Mumbai Metro projects from the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), and one from Rail Vikas Nigam Limited (RVNL) for a railway project in Madhya Pradesh.

IRCON announced it had received a Letter of Award from RVNL for a railway infrastructure project in Madhya Pradesh valued at ₹755.78 crore (inclusive of GST). The contract was awarded to the IRCON–JPWIPL joint venture, where IRCON holds a 70% stake. Accordingly, IRCON’s share of the project is ₹529.04 crore, including GST.

The contract scope covers the construction of roadbed, minor bridges, buildings, track installation (excluding supply of rails, sleepers, and thick web switches), as well as other civil and electrical works for a new broad-gauge railway line between Pipaliya Nankar (excluding) and Budni (including) in the Indore–Budni section of the West Central Railway. The item rate contract is to be executed over 36 months, with an additional six-month defect liability period.

Separately, MMRDA has awarded IRCON the CA-239 contract for Mumbai Metro Line-5, Package-2. This includes design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of a 220 kV receiving substation, cabling works (220 kV, 33 kV and 25 kV), a complete 25 kV overhead catenary system with switching station, auxiliary power distribution systems, SCADA system, electrical and mechanical works, and lift and escalator works.

The total contract value is ₹471.29 crore and €2.84 million, inclusive of all taxes except GST and customs duty. The build period is 108 weeks, followed by two years of defect liability and five years of comprehensive maintenance.

In another contract from MMRDA, IRCON has been awarded CA-233 for Mumbai Metro Line-6, Package-2. This involves power supply and traction, E&M works, lifts and escalators, with five years of maintenance after a two-year defect liability period. The contract value is ₹642.44 crore and €2.79 million, inclusive of all applicable levies, excluding GST and customs duty. The project is to be completed within 104 weeks.

Shares of Ircon Ltd ended at ₹186.95, down by ₹2.75, or 1.45%, on the BSE.
