iPhone 17 sales have started on Friday, 19 September in India and across many countries. People have queued in big numbers to pick up their iPhone 17, 17 Pro and iPhone Air units that have been pre-booked earlier this month. Apple Stores in Saket, Mumbai and Bengaluru have seen buyers lineup hours before the store opens on Friday, as they look to become one of the first customers to own the new iPhone 17 models in the country.

There is a lot of excitement around the new iPhone 17 lineup, especially the thin iPhone Air version but most of the pre-booking fanfare is for the premium iPhone 17 Pro Max version which now comes in a flashy orange colour variant.

The crowd had to be controlled by the police authorities while some of them apprehended for causing the ruckus during a regular store launch event. The iPhone 17 sale started at 8AM across stores, and some of the early buyers gave their opinion on their new purchase and why they bought the model.

Some people like Irfan from Mumbai, have been waiting to buy the orange iPhone 17 Pro Max version since 8PM last evening. He is quoted talking about the changes in the design, camera upgrades and more.

iPhone launches have generated a high amount of demand and interest and the aspirational value of owning an Apple device continues to rule the market. Apple’s iPhone growth in India has been significant in recent years and the iPhone 17 series is likely to push the figures higher.

The new iPhone 17 models have refreshing changes, hardware upgrades, especially with the base variant which now gets a 120Hz ProMotion display like the premium models, and you also get 256GB as the starting option in the market with a nominal price increase of Rs 3,000. The 17 Pro is now dearer by 15,000 compared to last year’s 16 Pro in the country.
