An Indian-origin woman in her 20s was raped in the UK’s Walsall in what police have described as a racially aggravated attack, prompting an urgent investigation by the West Midlands Police.
Officers were called to the Park Hall area just after 7:15 pm on Saturday after the woman was found distressed on the street. Police said she had been assaulted at a nearby property by a man she did not know.
The suspect has been described as white, in his 30s, with short hair and dark clothing, and police have released CCTV footage of the accused. Detective Superintendent Ronan Tyrer called the incident “an absolutely appalling attack on a young woman," adding that multiple teams are working to recover evidence, analyse footage, and identify the suspect.
He urged anyone with information, dashcam, or CCTV footage from the area to come forward, stressing that it could provide a vital lead in the case.
