French President Emmanuel Macron, who is currently in India for the AI Impact Summit in Delhi, defended the Rafale deal with India, saying it makes India a stronger military power, creates more jobs and boosts the strategic partnership between the two countries.

Speaking to reporters ahead of a bilateral summit with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Macron said India had confirmed its willingness to command a new batch of Rafale jets, and described it as a “new step forward" for India-France defence cooperation.
