Haryana man stabbed to death in Germany, had promised sister a ring as Rakhi gift

A 25-year-old Indian man from Kurukshetra, Haryana, who had served in the French Army, was stabbed to death in Frankfurt, Germany, in an attack involving three people. The victim, identified as Vishu Sharma, had moved to Germany after leaving the French military and was working in the delivery business in Germany.

Vishu's father, Neeraj Sharma, said the family last spoke to him on Monday. They had a normal conversation before Vishu returned to work. The family did not speak to him on Tuesday and received news of his death on Wednesday morning. The circumstances surrounding the killing are unclear.

There is also limited information about the three attackers linked to the crime. The motive behind the stabbing has not been established.

Neeraj said Vishu left for Portugal in November 2022. The family sold a plot and spent around Rs 20 lakh to help him move to Portugal. Vishu travelled to France about a year later. He underwent six months of military training and then served in the French Army for around a year.

He later left the army and moved to Germany, where he began working in the delivery sector. According to his father, Vishu had also formed a team for his delivery work, with several people working under him.

HE HAD PLANNED TO VISIT INDIA

Vishu had been planning to return home around Diwali, according to his family. His sister was also looking forward to celebrating Raksha Bandhan with him.

The family said Vishu had promised to gift her a ring for the occasion.

His sudden death has left his family and relatives in shock. The family is now completing the formalities required to bring his body back to Kurukshetra.
