Google's Veo 3.1 update is big for short video creators and also improves the ability for people to make content with less instructions

Google is now ready to deliver short videos with Veo 3.1 update
Google has released the new version of its AI video generation model called Veo 3.1 which is getting new abilities and power to craft vertical videos. The company is also making Veo 3.1 more powerful and smarter so that it can contextually understand your commands with less prompts.
These changes will be available with a new update for the Veo 3 AI model which is rolling out this week and will be available to most paid subscribers gradually. But the most important switch can be related to Veo 3.1 able to generate TikTok-style or Reels vertical format videos.
Veo 3.1 Update For Users
Video generation via AI tools are in big demand and Google is looking to advance its upgrades with the Veo AI model and the version 3.1 promises more changes and aligns to the market trends. OpenAI has Sora with similar focus in the market and Veo 3.1 is looking to get closer to its features that only paid users can access and really make use of.
Other features in Veo 3.1 are ingredients to video which allows you to add multiple images and club it with the text prompt to generate the relevant video. Google claims Veo 3.1 makes this process better and gives improved results.
The prompt process is also getting better and you don’t need to write elaborate instructions to make the AI model generate the right content. The characters of the subject and their details also get better consistency throughout the clip which has been lagging with the earlier Veo models.
But like we said, the option to generate these videos in the 9:16 format means Reels and TikTok as well as Shorts become a viable platform to host these manipulated content. You can generate the videos in 4K quality (not just limited to 1080p anymore) and share them across platforms.
Google is going to be busy with Apple’s own AI strategy as the company is reportedly being paid $1 billion per year to develop the Gemini AI model that will power the new Siri and Apple AI features.
