Google I/O 2026 dates have been confirmed by company’s chief Sundar Pichai this week. Google has been running a special puzzle quiz which people had to solve to get the I/O 2026 conference dates for this year and we finally have the details confirmed by Pichai via this post on X which also gives us some big clues on what to expect from the latest developer event and even for the consumers.
This is Google’s biggest platform for the year where we get to see what the company has been working on and plan to bring to the market soon.

Google I/O 2026 is confirmed for May 19 and May 20, 2026 and the event will most likely be held in-person at Google’s California base. We can expect the I/O 2026 keynote on the first day around 10:30 PM IST for those watching in India, and Google should have it available via its YouTube channel for free livestream.
Google I/O 2026 Confirmed: What Can We Expect
The Google I/O 2026 teaser has more than given us clues for what to expect from this year’s conference. Gemini is going to be at the forefront of its subjects to discuss, share and announce. But Android 17 will also be given special focus with many hoping to see new features and design UI overhaul and some nifty additions for smartphone users in the near future.
Chrome, AI Search (with Mode) and possible integrations of AI agents with other products should be also in the agenda for the company where developers will be further briefed on how to make everything work efficiently and safely.
Google’s developments will also be closely followed by its rivals OpenAI and even Apple, which is going to need the search giant to deliver on its rumoured custom Gemini AI model that will be powering the new Siri AI version and other Apple AI features in the next few years for iPhone users.
