A bomb plot has been foiled and four people have been arrested for attempting to target several places, including US immigration agents and their vehicles, Attorney General Pam Bondi said on Monday.
Reuters quoted the complaint filed in the US District Court for the Central District of California stating that the four individuals have been charged with conspiracy and possession of an unregistered destructive device
“The Turtle Island Liberation Front — a far-left, pro-Palestine, anti-government, and anti-capitalist group — was preparing to conduct a series of bombings against multiple targets in California beginning on New Year’s Eve. The group also planned to target ICE agents and vehicles," Bondi said in a statement.
The complaint stated that the bombing plot had called for planting explosive devices at five locations targeting two US companies at midnight on New Year’s Eve in the Los Angeles.
Reuters quoted the complaint stating the four accused were part of a Signal group chat called “Order of the Black Lotus," which one of them described as being “radical".
The four defendants named in the complaint are Audrey Illeene Carroll, 30, Zachary Aaron Page, 32, Dante Gaffield, 24, and 41-year-old Tina Lai.

In a post on X, FBI Director Kash Patel said: “Over the weekend, the FBI disrupted a credible, imminent terrorist threat and arrested FOUR individuals connected to the Los Angeles area."
“The subjects self-identified as members of a radical offshoot of the Turtle Island Liberation Front (TILF), an extremist group motivated by pro-Palestinian, anti-law-enforcement, and anti-government ideology. They were allegedly planning coordinated IED bombing attacks on New Year’s Eve, targeting five separate locations across Los Angeles," he said.
He further said a fifth person has also been arrested as “an additional FIFTH individual believed to be linked to this radical TILF subgroup – also allegedly planning a separate violent attack".
