A newly released picture from Jeffrey Epstein files shows Tesla owner Elon Musk and Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg sitting along a long dinner table.
The photograph, which was released by the US Department of Justice as part of a large batch of investigation records appears to show Elon Musk and Mark Zuckerberg seated together at a long dinner table.
Emails contained in the files indicate that on August 2, 2015, Jeffrey Epstein wrote a note to himself saying he was scheduled to have dinner in Los Angeles with “musk thiel zuckerberg" — seemingly referring to Musk, Facebook founder Zuckerberg and investor Peter Thiel. The next day, he emailed himself a picture taken at the gathering.
However, there’s no indication of Musk being involved in any wrongdoing, and appearing in the records does not suggest criminal activity. Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, had long maintained connections with influential people in politics, business and academia.
He was found guilty in Florida in 2008 for soliciting sex from a minor and later died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial on federal sex-trafficking charges.
The released pictures from the Epstein Files, widely being shared online and running into millions of pages, photos, and videos, contain detailed email exchanges between Epstein and several prominent individuals. Some messages show Musk discussing possible travel arrangements, including questions in 2012 about visiting Epstein’s private Caribbean island.
Musk has maintained that he never went to the island and has not been accused of any offence.
The wider disclosure has led to political and reputational consequences in the United States and Europe, with some public figures facing inquiries or stepping down over past links to Epstein, especially where contact continued after his 2008 conviction.
US authorities said the documents were made public after thorough review intended to promote transparency.
