Talks between US President Donald Trump and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Gaza were briefly overshadowed on Monday by a hot-mic moment in which Trump expressed frustration that his diplomatic efforts had not been recognised.
The exchange occurred as Trump sat down to lunch with Netanyahu and their delegations during talks focused on Gaza. In a clip that went viral, Trump can be heard ranting that his efforts had gone unrewarded.
"Thirty-five years of fighting and they stopped. Do I get credit for it? No," Trump said, before trailing off mid-sentence. "They gave the Nob...," he added, appearing to reference the Nobel Peace Prize.
President Donald J. Trump heard ranting on a hot mic to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about not winning the Nobel Peace Prize, “Do I get credit for it? No. They gave the Nob-- I did eight of them. How about India and Pakistan? So I did eight of them. And then I'll pic.twitter.com/6fAM1h1n8d

Moments later, spotting reporters nearby, Trump abruptly switched tone. "You're going to all be outside. The beautiful sun. Enjoy your lunch," he said, before praising the meeting as productive and ushering the press out.
INDIA DISPUTES MEDIATION CLAIMS
Trump also revived the repeated claims that he helped defuse tensions between India and Pakistan. Since May, he has repeatedly said Washington played a role in securing a full and immediate ceasefire after the conflict triggered by the Pahalgam terror attack.
India has firmly rejected Trump's version. New Delhi has said the understanding on ending hostilities followed direct talks between the two militaries' Directors General of Military Operations, not third-party mediation. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has stated in Parliament that no foreign leader asked India to halt Operation Sindoor.
Tensions spiked after an April 22 terror attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam that killed 26 people. India responded on May 7 with Operation Sindoor, targeting terror infrastructure in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir.
TRUMP TO RECEIVE ISRAEL PRIZE
After the meeting, Netanyahu publicly praised Trump, calling the talks "very, very productive" and praised the "extraordinary friendship".
He also announced that Trump would be awarded the Israel Prize, breaking with tradition to honor a non-Israeli and marking the first time the annual prize will go to another country's president.
