Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia died at the age of 80 after weeks in critical condition at a Dhaka hospital.

Bangladesh’s former Prime Minister and Bangladesh ist Party (BNP) chairperson Khaleda Zia died at the age of 80, the party said on Monday, according to AFP.
In a brief statement, the BNP confirmed that the veteran leader had passed away after battling multiple health complications.
Khaleda Zia had been undergoing treatment at Dhaka’s Evercare Hospital since November 23 and had remained in an extremely critical condition for weeks, party leaders and doctors had said earlier.
