Following the presentation of the Union Budget 2026-27 in Parliament by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) from the word go has activated a high-octane, nationwide budget-promoting strategy. The party will be positioning the budget as a definitive roadmap for achieving a “Viksit Bharat" by 2047. As per sources, BJP is to mobilise its entire leadership to take the budget’s salient features to every corner of the country.
A high-level central committee has been formed by BJP President Nitin Nabin to take charge to ensure a synchronised narrative across the country to highlight the budget.
This committee is to be led by BJP’s General Secretary Tarun Chugh, with the campaign theme “Budget Outreach Campaign 2026".
This team includes leaders and strategists such as Saroj Pandey, Anil Antony, Narendra Singh Raina, GVL Narasimha Rao, Devesh Kumar, Shrikant Sharma, Gopal Krishna Agarwal, Sanjay Tandon, and Guru Prakash Paswan, along with others.
BJP will undertake a 15-day outreach marathon from February 1 to 15. A key pillar of this strategy is a series of over 150 mega press conferences scheduled between February 2 and 10. These will be addressed by an array of high-profile leaders, including Union Ministers, Chief Ministers of BJP-ruled states, and state-level ministers. Also, department-specific ministers will hold specialised briefings to explain how the budget empowers their respective sectors.
The party is organising structured discussions with diverse socio-economic groups, with plans to engage directly with:
Youth & Professionals: Discussing job creation and the digital economy.Farmers & Artisans: Explaining welfare schemes and infrastructure boosts.MSMEs & Traders: Outlining tax reforms and ease-of-doing-business initiatives. The BJP, also recognising the shifting media landscape, is leaning heavily on digital platforms. For the first time, the party is collaborating with prominent social media influencers to break down complex fiscal policies into accessible Instagram Reels and short-form videos. Furthermore, Union Ministers and Chief Ministers will participate in podcasts to provide deep-dive insights while simultaneously penning editorials in leading national and regional newspapers.
Grassroots Outreach via ‘Budget Chaupals’
To ensure the message reaches rural India, the party is reviving the earlier “Chaupal" format. These “Budget Pe Charcha" programmes will serve as community gatherings where local leaders explain the budget’s impact on everyday lives in simple, regional languages.
The BJP maintains that this is no “ordinary budget", but a strategic blueprint designed to accelerate India’s journey towards becoming a global superpower. With an eye on upcoming assembly elections in five states, this outreach serves as both a policy primer and a powerful political statement.
