Azerbaijan has reportedly withdrawn diplomatic staff from Iran after accusing it of launching drones into its territory. On Wednesday, drones struck the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an Azerbaijani enclave bordering Iran, Armenia and Turkey. One drone hit the terminal of Nakhchivan Airport while another landed near a school in the village of Shakrabad, injuring several people. Azerbaijan has condemned the attack as a terrorist attack and summoned Iran's ambassador for an explanation. Tehran has denied responsibility for the strike. The incident marks a significant escalation in tensions between the two neighbouring countries, with Azerbaijan taking the drastic step of withdrawing its diplomatic personnel from Iran in response to the drone attacks.
