Ather's family scooter Rizta crosses 3 lakh sales within two years

Ather Energy on Monday said sales of its Rizta electric scooter have crossed the 3 lakh-unit mark within two years of launch, with the model emerging as the company’s largest volume driver.

The scooter crossed the 2 lakh-unit sales in December 2025 and added another 1 lakh units within five months.

Speaking on the development, Ravneet Singh Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy, said, "Since its launch, the Rizta was sharply positioned as a family scooter and has resonated extremely well with the family audiences across the country."

He added, "The Rizta has played a crucial role in expanding our market share in ‘middle India’ by 4X since its launch. In FY '26 the Rizta constituted about 76% of our portfolio and continues to lead our growth.”

Ather said the model has contributed to the company’s expansion in markets outside southern India, particularly in states including Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh and Odisha.

The company cited Vahan and Telangana Vehicle Online Sales data to state that its market share in these regions rose from 4.1% in Q1 FY25 to 17.3% in Q4 FY26.

The company also said northern states such as Punjab, Rajasthan and Uttar Pradesh recorded more than three-fold growth in market share during the same period.

The company added that the Rizta has also significantly expanded its customer base, bringing a larger share of family buyers into the EV category. Nearly 70% of Rizta customers are families with children, highlighting the scooter’s strong appeal for everyday family usage, claimed the company.

Shares of Ather Energy rose 5.24% to close at ₹963 on Monday at NSE.
