The last rites of Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar are set to be performed today at Vidya Pratishthan Ground in Baramati at around 11 A.M. today, Thursday.
Meanwhile, his mortal remains will be kept at his residence in Katewadi, Baramati. The funeral procession will begin from there at 9 A.M., culminating at the Vidya Pratishthan grounds.
Pawar, the longest-serving Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra and senior NCP leader, died in a tragic plane crash in Baramati on Wednesday. The 66-year-old leader was among five people killed when a chartered Learjet 45, operated by Delhi-based VSR Ventures, burst into flames while attempting to land in poor visibility at Baramati Airport.
