India is hosting the AI Impact Summit 2026 at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi.
Emmanuel Macron India AI Summit 2026 LIVE Updates: French President Emmanuel Macron, Spanish President Pedro Sánchez, Google CEO Sundar Pichai among top delegates who will be attending the AI Impact Summit hosted by India in Delhi on Wednesday. The summit, held from February 16–20, follows the UK’s first AI Summit in 2023 and France’s 2025 edition, which highlighted major global investments in AI.
Macron and France’s First Lady Brigitte Macron arrived in Mumbai on Tuesday for an official three-day visit to India from 17 to 19 February 2026. This is his fourth official visit to India.
At a joint press meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Macron thanked him for the welcome and spoke about attending the AI summit.
India-France Year Of Innovation Launched
Prime Minister Narendra Modi and President Macron inaugurated the India-France Year of Innovation 2026 at the Gateway of India.
Speaking at the India-France Innovation Forum, Macron said the question is no longer whether India innovates, but who will innovate with India. He said France wants to be that partner and added, “We are here. We want to be here with you. And we are not leaving.”
He also announced an Innovation Day to be held before the G7, led by Franco-Indian initiatives and bringing together students and researchers. Macron said France wants to be a trusted partner so that both countries’ industries can deliver unique cooperation.
AI Impact Summit
The India AI Impact Summit 2026 is being held from 16 to 20 February at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi. It is the first major global AI event hosted in the Global South.
The summit, organised under the IndiaAI Mission, focuses on People, Planet and Progress. It features 12 indigenous foundation models in 22 Indian languages and pavilions from France, Japan, the UK and others.
France has the largest international pavilion, covering 436 square metres, with 29 companies showcasing AI across several sectors.

Amid the controversy, Galgotias University staff and officials vacated their stall at the India AI Impact Summit expo following objections over the display of a Chinese‑made robo‑dog. Power was reportedly cut off at the Galgotias University pavilion after the institution was asked to leave the venue due to the row surrounding the robotic dog exhibit. A security guard at the India AI Impact summit expo venue told ANI, “My supervisor has said that Galgotiyas’ stall is being shut. Lights might have been switched off by the electricity department.”

The government has extended the India AI Impact Summit 2026 Expo by an additional day, allowing the exhibition to remain open to the public on Saturday, February 21, in view of the large public turnout and to ensure a smoother and more comfortable experience for visitors.
