The order involves construction and overall development work of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra at Punauradham, the birthplace of Sita, located in Sitamarhi district of Bihar. Shares of Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd ended at ₹962, down by ₹8.10, or 0.83%, on the BSE today, December 16.

Construction firm Ahluwalia Contracts India Ltd on Tuesday (December 16) said it has secured a construction order worth ₹888.38 crore, including GST, from Bihar State Tourism Development Corporation Ltd.


The order involves construction and overall development work of Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Tirtha Kshetra at Punauradham, the birthplace of Sita, located in Sitamarhi district of Bihar. The project will be executed under the EPC mode and falls under civil construction works.


The company said the contract has been awarded by a domestic entity and will be executed over a period of 42 months. Ahluwalia Contracts also clarified that neither the promoter nor the promoter group has any interest in the entity awarding the contract.

In June this year, Ahluwalia Contracts India secured two major domestic construction projects totalling ₹1,103.56 crore. The company said it had received an order from Whiteland Corporation Pvt Ltd to construct residential towers for the ‘Urban Resort’ project at Sector 103, Gurugram, valued at ₹821 crore. The project is expected to be completed within 36 months.


Separately, Ahluwalia has also been awarded a contract worth ₹282.56 crore by Nestled Haven Estates Pvt Ltd and Maia Estates Pvt Ltd for civil structure and architectural finishing work on a group housing project titled ‘The Beacon,’ in Bengaluru. This project will be executed over 32 months.


Both contracts are for domestic residential developments and do not involve any related party transactions, the company clarified.


Shares of Ahluwalia Contracts (India) Ltd ended at ₹962, down by ₹8.10, or 0.83%, on the BSE today, December 16.
