Google is facing an outage in India and the US.

Users across India and the United States reported widespread issues with YouTube, Google Search and related services, sparking a surge in online searches asking: “YouTube and Google down? When will it be back up?"

Thousands of users complained of slow loading, video playback failures and server connection problems, suggesting a large-scale outage rather than isolated disruptions. Data from outage-tracking platform Downdetector showed a sharp spike in complaints, with no official word yet from Google on the cause or timeline for restoration.

What Issues Are Users Facing?

Users said YouTube videos were taking unusually long to load, buffering repeatedly or failing to play altogether. Others reported being unable to access the YouTube website or mobile app. Downdetector data showed complaints rising rapidly- from around 3,500 reports initially to over 11,000 within hours, pointing to a widespread service disruption. According to the platform, about 73% of users reported website issues, 18% flagged video streaming problems and 9% faced app-related errors.

Who Are Impacted The Most By Outage?

India saw a significant number of complaints, with around 3,300 outage reports logged. Of these, 53% cited server connection issues, 34% reported website problems and 13% flagged video streaming disruptions. Users in the United States also reported issues, particularly with YouTube TV, where live streams failed to load. Google Search disruptions were reported as well, with users saying search results were slow or inaccessible.

What Services Are Impacted?

Other than YouTube and Google, users flagged problems with Google Search, including difficulty loading results and accessing core Google services. Downdetector data showed complaints spanning YouTube, Google Search and YouTube TV.

What Has Google Said On The Outage?

As of now, Google has not issued an official statement confirming the outage, its cause, or an estimated time for services to be fully restored.
